Life is floating by.
And you’re just watching it go past without ever engaging with it.
At the first sign of stress, sadness, or anxiety, you shut down. You check out from yourself and go numb.
You hate being disconnected, but it’s better than the overwhelming distress you feel the rest of the time.
You do your best to distract yourself.
You have a packed schedule – working, cleaning, always moving – lest you have a moment of downtime.
There’s safety in this exhaustion. As long as you keep your mind occupied, everything’s okay.
You won’t have to deal with the memories, flashbacks, worries, and intrusive thoughts as you usually do.

The past won’t let you be.
No matter how hard you try to ignore the pain, it always eventually comes flooding back.
The horrible things that were said and done to you – the feelings of powerlessness, shame, and guilt.
You lay in bed at night, unable to sleep, mind racing, terrified of the next vivid nightmare.
Sometimes, you just want to give up.
You want to crawl into a bubble and run from everyone and everything, yet you crave connection.
Hiding the burden of everything you’ve been through creates a wall between you and the world.
Finding people you can trust feels impossible, and the loneliness is becoming too much.
But you keep powering through.
Pretending that everything’s okay. Pushing all your issues to the side and hoping they go away.
It takes such effort to hide from the pain of what you’re feeling. And you know it can only last for so long.
At some point, the emotions, memories, and secrets will force their way out whether you want them to or not.
The wound is still open.
You’ve spent years applying band-aids, one on top of another, as the wound festers underneath.
As it grows more irritated and painful, you consider drastic actions to make it stop.
You try to compensate by focusing on your strengths, but all the while, it keeps getting worse.

It’s time to take the band-aids off.
To disinfect the wound, air it out, and finally begin to heal.
Using a host of modern tools and expert guidance, it’s possible to find relief from your pain.
Feel the difference as your wound gets smaller, heals, and becomes a scar you can touch without pain.
Embrace your whole self.
Imagine a version of you that feels free and unburdened.
You have the power to achieve, connect, and thrive instead of just survive.
All you need now is to take the next step, and I’ll be right by your side.
Hi, I’m Veronica.
As someone who’s been on both sides of therapy, I know that it isn’t some magic wand to make all your problems go away (when I invent that wand, I promise I’ll let you know). But I can help you heal.
I don’t pretend my life is perfect (no one’s is). I bet we have a lot in common, and I aim for our sessions to feel more like two equals making sense of things as opposed to a one-sided interrogation.
Using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing and other resources, we can use the magic of science and the therapeutic relationship we build to help your brain, body, and mind feel at peace and within your control.
You won’t feel like you have to run away from your brain anymore. And you’ll be able to spot the people and situations you need to run from with much greater ease.
I can’t promise it will be easy. But with courage and commitment, you will eventually know how to create your own version of peace, contentment, and connectedness.
