Individual Therapy

Living a balanced life seems impossible.

You keep noticing your behavior isn’t lining up with your intentions. Your choices don’t feel like they come from a set of options; they’re more like instincts or impulses you don’t have control over.

Some days, you’re more productive and motivated than expected, and on other days, you feel paralyzed. Sometimes, time seems to disappear, as if you blacked out – but it was 10 am, and you were sober – and can’t account for what was happening in your head while you were away.

Connections seesaw between feeling strong and healthy some days, while on other days, it feels like you have no one and never will.

Energy waxes and wanes. Some days, you wake up ready to go to the gym, eat nutritiously, and feel energized. Sometimes, you go for days without eating well or having the energy to do more than the most basic tasks required.

It’s time to find some balance.

The best way to describe what is going on is the lack of balance – all these various aspects of your life feel pulled into two extremes. You’re living in black and white; things are good or bad; you can only go left or right. No matter your choice, it feels like you’re doing it all wrong.

Individual therapy provides a time for you to step back and help you figure out how to feel like there are choices available to you, like you have control over how your days go, and like you can live in the in-between without falling into one extreme or the other at any given moment.

There are concrete ways that we can achieve these shifts. I will never ask you to be a different person or try to change who you are. We’ll find a way to remind you of and highlight the parts of yourself you like the most, your strengths, and go from there.

Together, we will devise solutions, uncover patterns, and do the detective work of figuring out what (or who) caused those patterns to stick. Our goal is to help your brain, nervous system, and the rest of your body rewire so that the version of yourself that leads your life moving forward is most aligned with the person you’d like to be.
